ABOUT DAPHNE

Daphne Valentina has had a flair and passion for art since childhood.  Growing up a first-
generation Greek-American, she studied music, dance, and various arts including oils,
acrylics, ceramics, stained glass and jewelry design.

Daphne’s first language was Greek but as she grew up in Los Angeles, she mastered
English quickly and has since studied both Italian and Spanish.

During the course of an extensive 20-year corporate career, Daphne acquired a broad
background in real estate finance and development.  She was a bank vice-president of
construction lending and an escrow officer for 9 years.  But it was her great love for the
creative process that continued to tug at her heart.   And so for another 7 years, Daphne
created and owned her own company working as both designer and manufacturer of
women's clothing.

Today, Daphne is a professional Hair Stylist maintaining a private clientele at her salon in
Studio City, California.  Integrating her personal talents together with the professional skills
and training learned from the Vidal Sassoon Academy, she has worked extensively in film,
music videos, print, television and theatre.

In 2004, Daphne was a member of the Hair and Make-up Department at the Athens
Olympics.  This world-wide team of artististic stylists enhanced the beauty and
appearances of all the entertainers at both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the
Athens games.

Currently Daphne continues with her various creative projects in the arts, film theater and
her own screenwriting project in development.

She is a member of the Greek Theater Ensemble at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles
where her responsibilities have included Prop Master, Set Decoration, Wardrobe Stylist,  
Production Manager and Hair and Make Up Stylist.

Drafted as Hospitality Coordinator for the 2007 Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, she is
the liason to the 16 filmmakers arriving from Greece, arranging their stay and attendance
to the various events, screenings and Director's panels.

Intrepid as ever, Daphne continues to travel the world and is constantly looking for new
